Age to Age

“...declaring God’s love and faithfulness to all generations” Psalm 89:1

Age to Age is a mentoring ministry based on the principles of Titus 2:3-5 and Romans 12:2, the promises of Isaiah 61:3 and the praise of Psalm 89:1. It is a ministry that seeks to connect women of all ages through a two-fold purpose: Women need and desire friendships that are helpful, enjoyable and Christ-centered. Women need and desire a better understanding of God’s Word and how to apply it in their daily lives, homes, churches, jobs and communities. Age to Age helps participants become more firmly established in their personal theology and the doctrines of the Christian life. This is accomplished through the mentor and merea relationship and group Gatherings.

"Teach the older women to be holy in their behavior, not speaking against others, or enslaved to too much wine, but teaching what is good, Then they can teach the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be wise and pure, to be good workers at home, to be kind, and to yield to their husbands. Then no one will be able to criticize the teaching God gave us." Titus 2:3-5(New Century Version)
Why a Formal Mentoring Ministry?
Jesus said ..." go and make disciples"
There is a spiritual cry among the women of this generation to be shown "how to live the Word of God". Many are struggling and feel lost in the clamor of the church. Women who once were spiritually strong are voicing a desire to be refreshed and strengthened in their walk with the Lord.

Simply put...
A mentor is simply a woman who is more spiritually mature from years of experience and faithfulness to God. In Age to Age, the recipient of a mentor's counsel, prayers, teaching, and encouragement is called a "merea", which by definition means a disciple and friend. Both the mentor and merea that are paired together will commit to a journey trusting the divine providence of God's timing in their lives.

Purpose of "Age to Age" is ...
Our faithfulness to God's instruction is to "declare God's love and faithfulness to all generations." Our confidence is found in the promise of Isaiah 61:9 - "Their descendants will be known and honored among the nations. Everyone will realize that they are a people the Lord has blessed."

Nancy Dempsey"Several years ago I sensed God telling me to leave my job with AT&T and work for Him, I was moved beyond words. I immediately began to pray for Him to make a way for me to retire early with benefits. I committed to do whatever He called me to do for the rest of my life. Three years later I retired with a full pension and benefits. Within a year my heart was drawn to minister one on one, which soon led me to my first official mentoring experience. It was wonderful. My next move was to begin a mentoring ministry in my church. I'm always encouraged and blessed with each new woman God places in my life to mentor. I am honored to serve women in this marvelous capacity." - Nancy Dempsey (Age to Age Team Founder)

Dr. Davidson"Jesus set the example of how to do ministry when He spent most of His time teaching His Disciples. The Master plan of evangelism is mentoring. We follow Jesus' example by reproducing ourselves in others. The Christian life is "caught" as you get around someone that has that spiritual commitment to Jesus. For that reason, I whole-heartedly endorse the Age to Age Mentoring Ministry." - Dr. Dewey Davidson (Sr. Pastor of Fortified Hills Baptist Church)
Testimonials of Participants
"This is what Age to Age is about - sharing the jewels of Christ with those who come after us; parading the Crowns of the Holy Spirn before a crowd of one - a precious merea, who might one day join in the procession of giving and receiving the Holy Treasure of Christ." - Felecia Ligon
"One of the greatest things about this program to me is the different generations you see coming together for the sole purpose of becoming stronger more powerful women in Christ and to lend a hand, shoulder, tissue, or smile to whomever may need it at the time". - Julie Thompson
"My mentor reminds me to turn to God, helps me to get focused, gives me strength, encouragement, and peace. Then consistently, diligently, and with love she points me back to The Word." - Brandi Payne
"Each season I have been a mentor has taught me more; helped me reach out and guide more skillfully; encouraged me to rely more on God's leading and the Holy Spirit's equipping." - Cheryl McDermott

"I have also enjoyed the time I have spent with Cheryl, my mentor as well as all the women involved. Everyone's journey is so different. Tonight was especially touching to me as those women who spoke became transparent. As I was watching them reveal how they were before they received Salvation, I realized the portrait you were talking about was on the other side of their cards. I could see pain and some shame on faces as they showed their before Christ's Portraits.  However, Acceptance, Love, Hope, Direction, Peace, Humility, and Forgiveness painted a beautiful picture of Christ as he is transforming us all!

Thank You Jesus for bringing us to the other side where we can be a beautiful light to others in a dark world!!" - Love, Tonya
